*Google ratings and review counts as they appeared in Google’s local results on 21 October 2026. “Trading since” is the Companies House incorporation year unless marked “stated” (the firm’s own claim). “Not confirmed” means we couldn’t find the terms published, not that the firm has none: ask.

Local vs national: what changes when you choose a North London firm

Safestyle, Anglian and Everest all state they are trading names of ASHI Group Limited (each brand’s website, October 2026), so quoting more than one of them tests one company’s pricing twice or three times.

  • Who you deal with. Safestyle matches you with a local salesperson, and a surveyor re-measures separately after you order (Safestyle’s website, October 2026). With most local firms, one person quotes, surveys and often fits the job.
  • Showrooms. Safestyle lists none in North London. Barnet Window Company, Lordship Windows, Stroud Green Windows, Ayrton Bespoke and World of Windows & Doors all have one nearby.
  • Local knowledge. Enfield and Waltham Forest both have conservation areas with Article 4 Directions controlling window changes.
  • Aftercare. Safestyle’s customer care team works weekdays, 9am to 3pm (Safestyle’s website, October 2026); a local firm is a short drive away.
  • A genuine second opinion. An independent gives you a quote from a company with no link to Safestyle, Anglian or Everest.

Trustpilot 3.2 out of 5 from 48,801 reviews, only 296 in the last 12 months, 21 Oct 2026 (Trustpilot)

Strengths: 15 years on clear sealed units with a transferable guarantee, a price-match offer against like-for-like quotes, and manufacturing in a UK factory (Safestyle’s website, October 2026); 70% of its Trustpilot reviews are five stars, often praising punctual, tidy installers (Trustpilot).

What to check: only 296 of its 48,801 Trustpilot reviews were posted in the last 12 months, and Trustpilot notes Safestyle hasn’t invited customers recently (Trustpilot, 21 October 2026). Customer care closes at 3pm on weekdays, and its site doesn’t say whether new orders carry an insurance-backed guarantee.

How we chose the North London alternatives

We applied four tests on 21 October 2026: trading now, based in or next to Hackney, Haringey, Waltham Forest or Enfield, installing windows and doors (not just glass or repairs), and publicly reviewed. We also recorded whatever guarantee terms each firm publishes, since that’s where Safestyle’s story should make you most careful. Likely lead-generation listings were skipped.

The 10+ best Safestyle alternatives in North London

1. BBL Windows (Walthamstow): a 10-year guarantee with insurance backing, from a Walthamstow office

We’ve fitted windows and doors in London since 2012, working from Walthamstow E10, with Stamford Hill at the heart of our patch. Safestyle’s range is uPVC-led, and so is a lot of our work: casement windows, tilt and turn windows, bow and bay windows, aluminium windows, aluminium sliding doors and composite doors. Safestyle’s 15 years on clear sealed units is longer than our standard 10, so compare the small print on glass.

3. Lordship Windows (Tottenham): best for review volume from a local maker

Lordship has 484 Google reviews at 4.7, more than anyone else we checked, and makes the uPVC and aluminium windows and doors it fits at its Lordship Lane premises (Lordship Windows’ website, October 2026), also offering repairs. The current company was incorporated in 2012 (Companies House 08087489).

Good to know: it doesn’t publish a guarantee length or a FENSA number that we could find. Get both before you commit.

4. Stroud Green Windows (Finsbury Park): best published guarantee for mixed materials

Stroud Green spells out its cover: a 10-year workmanship guarantee plus an insurance-backed guarantee. It’s FENSA registered and fits timber, aluminium and uPVC windows, doors, staircases and skylights from its N4 shop and Tottenham workshop. Google: 4.8 from 177 reviews. Ayrton makes timber windows, doors and shutters and has a showroom on Tottenham Lane, N8, rated 4.8 on Google from 131 reviews. The company dates from 1988 (Companies House 02235366).

Good to know: Ayrton’s website states a 10-year workmanship guarantee and a 60-year no-rot guarantee on its timber windows (Ayrton Bespoke’s website, October 2026). Ask what maintenance the guarantee requires.

6. London Sash Windows & Doors (Archway): best for sash you can have repaired by the maker

This firm makes its own Sapele and Accoya sash and casement windows in a North London workshop, so it can also draught-proof and refurbish, aftercare in the most literal sense. It’s FENSA registered (no. 38739), a Made in Britain member and a Which? Trusted Trader with 5.0 from 36 reviews (Which?). Google: 4.8 from 44. Incorporated 2017 (Companies House 10832389).

Good to know: its website lists warranties of 50 years on Accoya timber, 30 years on Sapele, up to 15 years on glazing and 10 years on draught-proofing (London Sash Windows & Doors’ website, October 2026).

7. World of Windows & Doors (Enfield): best for an insurance-backed guarantee and in-house fitters

World of Windows gives a 10-year insurance-backed guarantee (World of Windows’ website, October 2026) and says its own fitters do the work, not subcontractors. It’s FENSA registered (no. 12431) and on TrustMark (TrustMark), with a showroom on Great Cambridge Road. Google: 4.9 from 79; incorporated 1994 (Companies House 02938554).

8. Towns-End Double Glazing (Enfield): best for repairs as well as replacements

Towns-End handles repairs alongside new windows, composite, French and patio doors, skylights and conservatories. It’s FENSA registered, TrustMark listed, a CPA Approved Craftsman and a Pilkington and Liniar approved installer. Google: 4.8 from 66. Incorporated 2001 (Companies House 04260455).

Good to know: it doesn’t publish a guarantee length that we could find. Ask whether CPA membership brings an insurance-backed guarantee with your job.

9. Enfield Windows (Enfield Town): best for a named aftercare team

Enfield Windows’ website mentions a service engineer and an in-house aftercare team for the 10-year guarantee period, insurance-backed through HomePro, and says its installers are directly employed (Enfield Windows’ website, October 2026). It fits uPVC, timber, sash and casement windows, composite and aluminium doors, shutters and skylights. Google: 4.5 from 156. Incorporated 2012 (Companies House 08070204).

Good to know: its website says every installation carries a 10-year insurance-backed guarantee (Chigwell Windows’ website, October 2026). We couldn’t match it to a Companies House record, so ask for the company’s registered name on your quote.

12. Springview Window (Stamford Hill): best for a maker on the doorstep in N16

Springview makes uPVC, aluminium and timber windows and doors and conservatories from Timberwharf Road, the only well-reviewed manufacturer we found within Stamford Hill. Its Certified Competent profile lists CERTASS and TrustMark membership, with 9.74 out of 10 from 142 reviews (Certified Competent). Google: 4.4 from 26. Incorporated 2010 (Companies House 07433162).

Good to know: its website was offline when we checked, so we couldn’t confirm a guarantee.

What windows and doors cost in North London in 2026

Safestyle doesn’t publish prices, and its price match only covers three uPVC window types.

Item MyJobQuote Checkatrade

uPVC bifold doors £1,950 to £4,250 (MyJobQuote, Sept 2026) £2,000 to £4,500 plus VAT (Checkatrade, Jul 2026)

Extras to ask about (MyJobQuote, July 2026): scaffolding at £300 to £800 per elevation, waste removal at £200 to £350, making good at £50 to £100 per window, and £200 to £500 per window for rotten lintels or frames found once old windows come out.

What North London homes need

North London homes leak a lot of heat, and windows are part of why.

Borough Homes at EPC D or below Pre-1929 homes at EPC C or above Built before 1940
Enfield 54.3% 19.2% 58.5%
Haringey 47.7% 29.0% 64.8%
Waltham Forest 47.7% 28.9% 64.0%
Hackney 31.6% 41.9% 42.7%
England 46.7%

Sources: ONS, EPC band C or above, 10 years to March 2025, tables 1a, 2a and 2c; VOA Council Tax stock of properties 2025, table CTSOP4.1.

  • Enfield has the highest share to improve. More than half its homes with an EPC sit at band D or below, and fewer than one in five of its pre-1929 homes reach band C. The Energy Saving Trust puts the saving from replacing single glazing with A-rated double glazing at about £85 a year on a single-glazed semi (EST).
  • Keep the trickle vents. Replacements should carry the same background ventilation as the windows they replace, no smaller and controllable, under Approved Document F (GOV.UK).
  • Check planning first. Waltham Forest requires planning permission for flats and maisonettes changing any windows (Waltham Forest Council), and Enfield has Article 4 Directions covering 15 conservation areas (Enfield Council).

Five checks before you sign with anyone

  1. Part L. Replacement windows in England need a U-value of 1.4 W/m²K or better, or a Window Energy Rating of band B, under Approved Document L, Table 4.2 (GOV.UK).
  2. The certificate. A FENSA, CERTASS or Assure installer self-certifies the work and must give you a certificate within 8 weeks (GOV.UK).
  3. Cancellation. Contracts signed at home normally come with 14 days to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 (legislation.gov.uk), though made-to-measure goods may be treated differently.
  4. The guarantee insurer, by name. Ask who insures the guarantee and the deposit, and pay part by credit card for Section 75 protection (GGF). Which? Trusted Trader glaziers told Which? to look for a 10-year insurance-backed guarantee (Which?).
  5. No same-day pressure. Which? warns about prices that fall through a sales visit to get a signature on the day (Which?, Sept 2026).

Questions people ask about Safestyle

Does Safestyle cover North London, and where’s its showroom?

Safestyle names “London” among its operating areas (Safestyle’s website, October 2026), but lists no showroom, so you’ll be matched with a salesperson who visits your home.

What does Safestyle’s guarantee cover?

Safestyle offers a 10-year guarantee with 15 years on clear sealed units, described as transferable if you sell (Safestyle’s website, October 2026), but its site doesn’t say whether new orders carry an insurance-backed guarantee. Ask for confirmation in writing.

Are Safestyle’s reviews reliable?

On 21 October 2026 Safestyle had 3.2 out of 5 on Trustpilot from 48,801 reviews, but only 296 came in the previous 12 months (Trustpilot). Filter Trustpilot to see the most recent ones.

Why choose a local installer over Safestyle?

With a local firm, the person who quotes your job is often the owner or a small team, not a salesperson followed by a separate surveyor. Several also have a showroom you can visit, local conservation knowledge, and reviews you can check.
