*Google ratings and review counts from Google’s local results on 21 October 2026. “Trading since” is the year the current company was incorporated at Companies House, unless marked “stated” (the firm’s own claim). “Not confirmed” means we couldn’t verify a showroom, not that there isn’t one.
Local vs national: what changes when you choose a North London firm
Anglian’s legal company is ASHI Group Limited, which also trades as Everest and Safestyle (each brand’s website, October 2026), so quoting more than one of those names tests one company’s pricing twice or three times.
- Who you deal with. Anglian’s process is a designer appointment, at home or remotely. Most local firms have one person quote, survey and often fit the job.
- Seeing the product locally. Anglian’s nearest showroom is Crews Hill, on the edge of Enfield. BBL, Lordship, Stroud Green, Ayrton Bespoke and World of Windows & Doors are all closer for Hackney, Haringey or Waltham Forest.
- Local knowledge. Enfield, Waltham Forest, Haringey and Hackney all have conservation areas with Article 4 Directions controlling window changes.
- Aftercare. A local firm is a short drive away, not a national customer care line.
- A genuine second opinion. An independent gives you a quote from a company with no link to Anglian, Everest or Safestyle.
Anglian at a glance
| Anglian (October 2026) | |
|---|---|
| Company | ASHI Group Ltd, which also trades as Everest and Safestyle; parent Anglian Group Ltd |
| Nearest showroom | Crews Hill, Phoenix Rose Nursery, Enfield EN2 9DP. Open Monday to Sunday, 10am to 4pm (Anglian’s website, October 2026) |
| How you get a price | Appointment with a designer, at home or remotely (Anglian’s website, October 2026) |
| Published prices | None. Anglian says “You won’t find prices on our website” |
| Guarantee | 10 years on windows, doors and conservatories; 10 to 15 years on gas-filled sealed units (Anglian’s website, October 2026) |
| Finance | 11.9% APR representative, from 36 months (Anglian’s website, October 2026) |
| Trustpilot | 3.9 out of 5 from 40,825 reviews, 3,037 of them in the past year, 21 Oct 2026 (Trustpilot) |
Strengths: sixty years of trading, a seven-day Crews Hill showroom, a wide uPVC, timber and aluminium range with seven conservatory styles, and an insurance-backed guarantee to contract value (Anglian’s website, October 2026). Its 3.9 Trustpilot score is the best of the three ASHI brands.
What to check: with no published prices, you can’t benchmark Anglian until a designer has visited, and the “£1,000 scrappage” offer is an average saving, not a fixed amount off. Its 4 to 8 week install estimate excludes N, E, EN and IG postcodes (Anglian’s terms, October 2026), and Trustpilot flags slow after-sales responses and delays (Trustpilot, October 2026).
How we chose the North London alternatives
We checked every firm on 21 October 2026 for trading now, local basis, fitting windows or doors (not just glass or repairs), and public reviews. Because a showroom matters to many Anglian buyers, we’ve noted whether we could confirm one. Likely lead-generation listings were dropped.

What North London homes need
Much of North London’s old housing sits in conservation areas where windows are controlled.
Conservation areas and Article 4 Directions, by borough
- Enfield: 22 conservation areas, with Article 4 Directions covering 15 (Enfield Council).
- Waltham Forest: 15 conservation areas, with Article 4 Directions across most of them (Waltham Forest Council).
- Haringey: Article 4 Directions apply in Noel Park, Peabody Cottages, Rookfield Estate and Tower Gardens (Haringey Council).
- Hackney: 35 conservation areas, with Article 4 Directions for Beck Road, Brownswood, De Beauvoir and St Mark’s (Hackney Council).
Older homes, and who lives in them
| Borough | Built before 1919 | Owner-occupied | Social rented |
|---|---|---|---|
| Haringey | 54.0% | 37.2% | 25.2% |
| Waltham Forest | 45.0% | 48.9% | 21.5% |
| Hackney | 34.9% | 24.6% | 40.5% |
| Enfield | 23.3% | 52.4% | 17.0% |

In Hackney, fewer than a quarter of households own their home, so landlords and managing agents commission much of the work, which calls for a firm comfortable with multi-unit jobs.
Five checks before you sign with anyone
- Confirm the windows meet Part L. Replacements in England need a U-value of 1.4 W/m²K or better, or Window Energy Rating band B, under Approved Document L, Table 4.2 (GOV.UK).
- Make sure you’ll get a certificate. Installers in a competent person scheme such as FENSA, CERTASS or Assure self-certify and must issue a certificate within 8 weeks of completion (GOV.UK).
- Know your cancellation rights. A contract signed at home normally carries 14 days to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 (legislation.gov.uk), but a deal agreed later in a showroom or by phone carries no statutory cancellation right (Which?).
- Ask who backs your guarantee. An insurance-backed guarantee only protects you if the insurer behind it is named on your paperwork and solvent, and consider paying part by credit card for Section 75 cover (GGF).
- Judge the price, not the discount. Which? warns about quotes that drop through a sales visit to get a signature on the day (Which?, Sept 2026).
Questions people ask about Anglian
Where is Anglian’s showroom in North London?
Anglian’s Enfield page lists a showroom at Phoenix Rose Nursery, Crews Hill, Enfield EN2 9DP, open seven days from 10am to 4pm (Anglian’s website, October 2026). Closer independent showrooms include BBL, Lordship, Stroud Green, Ayrton and World of Windows.
Are Anglian’s reviews good?
Better than its sister brands. On 21 October 2026 Anglian scored 3.9 out of 5 on Trustpilot from 40,825 reviews (Trustpilot), against 3.2 for Safestyle and 2.7 for Everest on the same date. About 18% of its reviews are one star, with recurring complaints about after-sales service and delays.
Is the Anglian scrappage scheme a real £1,000 off?
Anglian describes the £1,000 as average savings on a typical 3-bed, 2-bathroom home with 12 units, allowing Anglian to recycle the old frames (Anglian’s website, October 2026). Your own saving depends on your order, so compare the final figure with independent quotes for the same spec.
Why choose a local installer over Anglian?
With a local firm, the person who quotes is often the owner or a small team, not a designer appointment and a separate process. Several also have a showroom closer than Crews Hill, local conservation knowledge, and reviews you can check.
