10+ Best Everest Windows Alternatives in North London (2026)

Updated October 2026 by BBL Windows, a Walthamstow window and door company. We’ve ranked ourselves first; every figure is sourced.

Everest is a national window brand that also serves North London. This guide compares it with 11 local North London installers on price, guarantees and reviews. Local firms give a genuine second opinion, since Everest, Anglian and Safestyle share one owner, ASHI Group Ltd.

Local vs national: what changes when you choose a North London firm

Everest, Anglian and Safestyle are all trading names of ASHI Group Ltd, so quoting more than one of them tests one company’s pricing, not three (each brand’s website, October 2026).

  • Who you deal with. Everest uses a design consultant, then a separate technical survey (Everest’s website, October 2026). Most local firms have one person quote, survey and often fit the job.
  • Showrooms. Everest lists none in North London. Barnet Window Company, Lordship Windows, Stroud Green Windows, Ayrton Bespoke and World of Windows & Doors all have one nearby.
  • Local knowledge. Enfield, Waltham Forest and Haringey have conservation areas with Article 4 Directions controlling window changes.
  • Aftercare. A local firm is a short drive away, not a national call centre.
  • A genuine second opinion. An independent gives you a quote from a company with no link to Everest, Anglian or Safestyle.

What to check: Everest’s TrustScore is 2.7 from 13,514 reviews, and recurring negative themes include prices rising after survey and slow callbacks after a deposit (Trustpilot, 21 October 2026).

How we chose the North London alternatives

Every firm here is trading now, based in or next to North London (mainly Hackney, Haringey, Waltham Forest and Enfield), fits windows and doors rather than just glass or repairs, and has public reviews, checked on 21 October 2026. We dropped Google listings with generic area names and a handful of reviews, which look like lead-generation pages. Ratings move weekly, so check the live figure before you book anyone, us included; the order after our own entry is not a ranking of quality.

The 10+ best Everest alternatives in North London

1. BBL Windows (Walthamstow): best for an online quote form across uPVC, aluminium and timber

We’ve fitted windows and doors across Stamford Hill and North London since 2012, from Walthamstow E10. Our online quote form takes your sizes and spec before a survey, covering uPVC windows, aluminium windows, uPVC sliding sash, composite doors, aluminium bifold doors and lantern roofs. We don’t build conservatories, and at 56 Google reviews our record is smaller than Lordship’s or Barnet Window Company’s.

2. Barnet Window Company (Barnet): best for the most independently checked reviews

Barnet Window Company is a Which? Trusted Trader with 4.9 from 583 reviews (Which?) and 4.9 on Google from 215, the largest vetted review record we found locally. It’s FENSA registered and a GGF member (GGF), with a showroom on Bulwer Road, and the company dates from 1997 (Companies House 03446216).

Good to know: we couldn’t confirm its guarantee length from its site. Ask for it on the quote.

3. Lordship Windows (Tottenham): best for a local manufacturer with big review numbers

Lordship makes and fits its own uPVC and aluminium windows and doors from Lordship Lane, N17, with 4.7 from 484 Google reviews, more than any other firm on this list. The current company dates from 2012 (Companies House 08087489).

Good to know: its site says it manufactures to FENSA standards, but we couldn’t confirm a FENSA registration number. Ask for it before you sign.

4. Stroud Green Windows (Finsbury Park): best for mixed-material work on period homes

Stroud Green fits timber, aluminium and uPVC windows, plus doors, staircases and skylights, from a shop on Stroud Green Road and a workshop in Tottenham. It’s FENSA registered with a 10-year workmanship guarantee, insurance-backed (Stroud Green’s website, October 2026), scores 4.8 on Google from 177 reviews, and dates from 2010 (Companies House 07324062).

Good to know: if a house needs timber at the front for the street scene and uPVC or aluminium at the back, this is a firm that can price all three.

5. Ayrton Bespoke (Crouch End): best for premium handmade timber

Ayrton makes timber windows, doors and shutters, and its Crouch End showroom scores 4.8 on Google from 131 reviews. Ayrton Bespoke Limited was incorporated in 1988 (Companies House 02235366), the oldest company on this list.

Good to know: with showrooms across London, it’s less local than most firms here. Ask for a written quote and guarantee terms, which we couldn’t confirm.

6. London Sash Windows & Doors (Archway): best for workshop-made timber sash

This firm makes Sapele and Accoya sash and casement windows and timber doors in its own North London workshop, and also does draught-proofing. It’s a Which? Trusted Trader with 5.0 from 36 reviews (Which?), 4.8 on Google from 44, and FENSA registered (no. 38739). Incorporated 2017 (Companies House 10832389).

Good to know: it works only in timber, which suits conservation areas where timber is required. It isn’t the place for a uPVC price comparison.

7. World of Windows & Doors (Enfield): best for an A10 showroom and in-house fitters

World of Windows has a showroom on the Great Cambridge Road and says it uses its own fitters, not subcontractors. It fits uPVC and aluminium windows and doors, composite doors, bifolds and conservatories, is FENSA registered (no. 12431), listed on TrustMark (TrustMark) with a 10-year insurance-backed guarantee. Google: 4.9 from 79; incorporated 1994 (Companies House 02938554).

8. Towns-End Double Glazing (Enfield): best for a firm that also repairs

Towns-End fits windows, composite, French and patio doors, skylights and conservatories, and also repairs. It’s FENSA registered, listed with TrustMark, a CPA Approved Craftsman and approved for Pilkington and Liniar (Towns-End’s website, October 2026). Google: 4.8 from 66; incorporated 2001 (Companies House 04260455).

Good to know: we couldn’t confirm its guarantee length or whether it has a showroom. Ask both.

9. Enfield Windows (Enfield Town): best for an Enfield Town firm with an in-house aftercare team

Enfield Windows fits uPVC, timber, sash and casement windows, composite and aluminium doors, shutters and skylights. It’s an Origin Premium Partner with a 10-year guarantee, insurance-backed through HomePro, and scores 4.5 on Google from 156 reviews. Incorporated 2012 (Companies House 08070204).

Good to know: it is listed as a Which? Trusted Trader, but with a single review so far (Which?), so Google is the better guide to its record.

10. Lifetime Glazing (Tottenham): best for a local uPVC fabricator with a 5.0 Google rating

Lifetime Glazing, trading name of S&D Glazing Ltd, designs, makes and fits uPVC windows and composite doors from White Hart Lane. It’s FENSA registered, a Made in Britain member, offers 10 years on product and workmanship, and has a perfect 5.0 on Google from 74 reviews. Incorporated 2018 (Companies House 11458022).

Good to know: as with any installer, ask who backs the insurance-backed guarantee.

11. Chigwell Windows (Woodford Green): best for Chingford and Highams Park

Chigwell Windows sits on Hale End Road at the Highams Park edge of Walthamstow. It fits windows, composite and bifold doors, roof lights, porches and conservatories, is FENSA registered and says it’s a family firm that doesn’t use subcontractors. It scores 4.7 on Google from 52 reviews and says it was established in 1994.

Good to know: we couldn’t match it to a Companies House record (Chigwell Window Centre plc is a different business), and it doesn’t state a guarantee length. Ask for both in writing.

12. Springview Window (Stamford Hill): best for a manufacturer inside N16

Springview, on Timberwharf Road, N16, is the only well-reviewed manufacturer we found inside Stamford Hill. It makes uPVC, aluminium and timber windows and doors, plus conservatories, and is CERTASS and TrustMark registered with 9.74 out of 10 from 142 reviews (Certified Competent). Google: 4.4 from 26; incorporated 2010 (Companies House 07433162).

Good to know: its website didn’t load when we checked, so ask for guarantee terms on paper.

What windows cost in North London in 2026

Nobody publishes a North London price list, so here’s Everest’s guide figure next to two national cost guides and a regional study.

Item Everest guide MyJobQuote Checkatrade ExpertSure, London
White uPVC casement, fitted £700 to £1,800 (Everest’s website, October 2026) £350 to £600 (MyJobQuote, Jul 2026) £500 to £1,250 (Checkatrade, May 2026) £570 average (ExpertSure, Mar 2026)
3-bed semi, uPVC throughout Not published £4,000 to £6,000 (6 to 10 windows) £8,000 to £15,000 (8 to 12 windows) £6,000 (10 windows)
Bay window About double an average casement (Everest’s website) Not compared Not compared Not compared
Aluminium casement, fitted Not published £550 to £800 £350 to £600 (Checkatrade, Jun 2026) Not compared

Checkatrade’s two guides use different uPVC figures; we’ve used its main double glazing guide.

ExpertSure puts London 20% above the national average; MyJobQuote puts London labour 15 to 25% above average. Both are guide figures rather than surveys of real jobs, and the two national guides differ by about two to one on a whole house, so specs differ and three like-for-like quotes are worth getting.

What North London homes need

Housing in Haringey, Waltham Forest and Enfield is older than London’s average, and more than a third of Hackney’s homes predate 1919.

Borough Homes Built before 1919 Built before 1940
Haringey 114,960 54.0% 64.8%
Waltham Forest 110,900 45.0% 64.0%
Hackney 120,680 34.9% 42.7%
Enfield 128,340 23.3% 58.5%
London 51.4%

Source: VOA Council Tax stock of properties 2025, table CTSOP4.1, dwellings at 31 March 2025.

  • More than half of Haringey’s homes predate 1919, meaning sash windows, odd sizes and soft brickwork; ask how each firm prices non-standard openings.
  • Enfield controls windows in most conservation areas. It has 22, with Article 4 Directions covering 15, including Enfield Town, Bush Hill Park, Winchmore Hill and Grange Park (Enfield Council). Check before anyone orders frames.
  • Waltham Forest and Haringey also restrict window changes in parts of their conservation areas (Waltham Forest Council; Haringey Council).

Where timber is required, ask for a heritage product by name. We fit Bereco’s Heritage sash in our wooden windows range.

Five checks before you sign with anyone

  1. Check the energy standard. Replacement windows in England must reach a U-value of 1.4 W/m²K or a Window Energy Rating of band B, under Approved Document L, Table 4.2 (GOV.UK).
  2. Ask for the certificate. A firm registered with a competent person scheme such as FENSA, CERTASS or Assure can self-certify and must give you a certificate within 8 weeks of finishing (GOV.UK). Otherwise you’ll need building control sign-off.
  3. Read the cancellation terms. Sign in your own home and you normally have 14 days to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 (legislation.gov.uk), though made-to-measure goods can be treated differently.
  4. Ask who backs your guarantee. An insurance-backed guarantee only protects you if the insurer behind it is named on your paperwork and solvent, and consider paying part by credit card for Section 75 cover (GGF).
  5. Distrust same-day discounts. Which? warns about quotes that fall during the visit if you sign on the spot (Which?, Sept 2026).

Questions people ask about Everest

Are Everest windows expensive?

By Everest’s own figures (Everest’s website, October 2026), a fitted white uPVC casement costs £700 to £1,800, above MyJobQuote’s £350 to £600 and within Checkatrade’s £500 to £1,250. Specs differ, so the fair test is two or three like-for-like quotes.

Does Everest cover North London, and where’s its showroom?

Yes: Everest’s local pages list Enfield among the London areas it covers, with quotes given at a home visit (Everest’s website, October 2026). It lists no North London showroom; sister brand Anglian has one at Crews Hill in Enfield (Anglian’s website, October 2026).

Are Everest’s reviews good?

On 21 October 2026 Everest scored 2.7 out of 5 on Trustpilot from 13,514 reviews, with 207 in the previous 12 months (Trustpilot). Most reviews over the years are five stars, but recent ones count for more in the score.

Why choose a local installer over Everest?

With a local firm, the person who quotes, surveys or fits your job is often the owner or a small team you deal with directly. It also means a showroom nearby, local conservation knowledge, and reviews from North London customers you can check, rather than one company’s pricing tested three times under three brand names.
